- Metocraft
Alloy & Plastic was formed over 60 years ago
to manufacture a niche line of hammers for industry and automotive
use. The Kenerson family established the company in 1939
in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
 Using
good old American know-how and ingenuity, Metocraft grew consistently
over the decades.

- The
business was moved to South Carolina in 1998,
locating its operations in Sumter County (Lynchburg, SC).
- The
current owner, William H. Floyd became familiar with
Metocraft hammers in his business endeavors and when the company
came up for sale, he seized the opportunity to take possession
of a rock solid company that produced products of outstanding
quality & workmanship. Floyd purchased the
company in January 2001 from Jack Kernerson, a third
generation heir.
- Mr.
Floyd fueled the recent growth of the company with his capital,
experience, knowledge & business skills plus over
30 years of experience in the distribution and sales
of hand tools and other related products. Using these
assets, he has successfully grown the business and has already
added many new products to the already large line of products.
- Metocraft
moved to its present location in Timmonsville, SC in July 2001.
The new facility, with almost 5,000 square feet & room to
grow, will allow Metocraft to flourish and focus on the continual
R & D of creating new products to add to the Metocraft Alloy
& Tool line.
- As
it has been from its beginnings in 1939, Metocraft is a family
owned and operated company, owned solely by the Floyd
family and is classified as a "small business"
according to governmental procurement regulations.
Metocraft is large enough to handle any size order, yet small
enough to provide personalized service.
- Metocraft
manufactured 33 styles of hammers and tools when it was purchased
in January 2001. Since then, many products have been added
to the line. The first new products included
a line of wood mallets and also some types of "No Bounce"
hammers. In order to better supply it's customer base,
Metocraft now also offers related products such as measuring
tapes, shop aprons & sleeves, pliers, sorbents, welding
supplies and related industrial shop accessories.
